SEMINAR DESCRIPTION 
Designed as an introduction to state and local tax, TEI’s State & Local Tax Boot Camp registrants will receive a basic understanding of state and local tax concepts enabling them to participate fully in their companies’ state and local tax compliance, planning, and financial reporting activities. This compressed format will link foundational principles in a practical way with tax return and financial reporting requirements for multistate businesses, as well as providing an introduction to state tax controversy and planning. This course is open to TEI members and non-members alike.

CPE/CLE INFORMATION
The course provides approximately 24 credits on a 50-minute hour basis, 20.5 credits on 60-minute hour basis. There are no prerequisites. Course hours and technical topics are subject to change.
NEW CONFERENCE HANDOUT MATERIALS
Conference materials will be posted in a searchable form on a secure website as they are received from the speakers. Beginning two weeks before the conference, registrants will be to access the handouts via a secure link (requiring a password), so they can download or print them out. No paper copies will be provided in your registration materials onsite, and onsite printing facilities will be extremely limited. TEI encourages you to print documents of interest in advance. (Regrettably, Wi-Fi will not be available in the meeting rooms) Materials will remain accessible by conference registrants for one month after the conference.
HOUSING INFORMATION
The seminar will be held at The Westin O'Hare Hotel. TEI has arranged for a discounted block of sleeping rooms for seminar registrants. The sleeping room rate will be $169 per night (+ tax). TEI's sleeping room block will be held until May 7, 2012 before releasing back to the hotel. TEI's block is limited and may sell-out prior to the May 7 cut-off date and rooms would then be available at prevailing rates. CANCELLATIONS
All cancellations must be made in writing by 4:00 pm ET on May 4, 2012, and will be subject to an administrative service charge of $75 (U.S.); for cancellations after May 4, 2012 (the date handout materials become available) and before May 11, the charge will be $200 (U.S.). No refunds will be made for cancellations received after May 11, and for no-shows. To cancel please send an email to meetings@tei.org. In the event of cancellation or oversubscription of the conference, TEI’s liability is limited to the return of the registration fee.
